Overview ​

Indexima’s newest version – v2026.2 – is now available. This new version brings the following main new features:

Easy to use ​

Broader PostgreSQL compatibility: the PostgreSQL JDBC driver shipped with Indexima moves to the 42.7 generation, which supports SCRAM-SHA-256 authentication, the default of recent PostgreSQL versions.

Easy to adopt ​

Modernized inter-node communication stack (Netty, Protocol Buffers), bringing the performance and stability improvements of their latest releases to cluster communications.

Latest generation of the Snappy compression engine, used to compress and read index pages.

Seamless upgrade from 2025.1: no parameter or configuration change required.

Easy To Implement ​

Hardened security across the whole platform: the core engine, its embedded web server, the Ranger plugins and the Atlas library are upgraded to fix known vulnerabilities (CVE), including critical ones.

  • Upgrade the inter-node communication stack: Netty from 4.1.77 to 4.1.138 and protobuf-java from 3.15.8 to 3.25.9 (CVE-2024-7254, CVE-2022-3509, CVE-2022-3510)

  • Upgrade snappy-java, used for index compression, to 1.1.10.8 (CVE-2023-34455, CVE-2023-43642)

  • Hadoop 3 package: upgrade the PostgreSQL JDBC driver from 9.4.1208 to 42.7.13 (CVE-2024-1597, CVE-2022-21724)

  • Upgrade the embedded web server Jetty from 9.4.8 to 9.4.58 (CVE-2017-7658)

  • Upgrade jackson-databind to 2.9.10.8 (from 2.9.5 in the Hadoop 3 package, from 2.6.7.1 in the Hadoop 2 package)

  • Upgrade commons-io from 2.4 to 2.20.0 (CVE-2021-29425, CVE-2024-47554)

  • Upgrade commons-compress to 1.21 (CVE-2021-35515, CVE-2021-35516, CVE-2021-35517, CVE-2021-36090)

  • Upgrade ivy to 2.5.3, groovy-all to 2.4.21 and ant to 1.10.15

  • Hadoop 3 package: upgrade gson to 2.8.9 and aircompressor to 0.27

  • Hadoop 2 package: replace log4j 1.2.16 by reload4j 1.2.26 (CVE-2019-17571, CVE-2022-23305, CVE-2022-23307), upgrade commons-collections to 3.2.2, commons-beanutils to 1.11.0 and plexus-utils to 3.6.1

Ranger and Atlas libraries ​

  • Ranger plugins for Hadoop 3: replace log4j 1.2.17 by reload4j 1.2.26 and upgrade the Hive JDBC driver from 3.1.1 to 3.1.3, which no longer embeds log4j-core 2.10.0 (CVE-2021-44228)

  • Atlas library: replace log4j 1.2.17 by reload4j 1.2.26
